Permanent Secretary to the Office of the Prime Minister, mR Keith Muhakazni has died
Mr Muhakanizi passed away on Thursday according to Government spokesman Ofwono Opondo.
He died in Milan Italy, Mr Opondo confirmed.
“A friend to many, Keith Muhakanizi ….has died from Milan, Italy where he was receiving treatment,” Opondo announced.
Mr Muhakanizi has been serving as the chief technocrat in the OPM since 2021. He spent most of his public service time at the Ministry of Finance where he served as Permanent Secretary for over a decade.
He is credited for playing a key role in the formulation and implementation of economic reforms that restored the macro-economic stability of Uganda’s economy.
Muhakanizi guided both the technical and policy development work in the preparation of successive National Development Plans.
