The body of Keith Muhakanizi, the fallen Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister has arrived back in the county from Italy.
The body was received at Entebbe International Airport in the wee hours of Saturday morning on board a Turkish Airlines flight.
It was received by different government officials led by Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja.
From the airport it was taken to the funeral home in Mengo and later to his home in Bogolobi.
An official funeral service is being held this morning at the Kololo Independence Grounds for the former PSST, and President Yoweri Museveni is expected as the chief mourner.
Mr Muhakanizi passed away on Thursday last week in Milan Italy, where he was rushed for treatment.
Mr Muhakanizi has been serving as the chief technocrat in the OPM since 2021. He spent most of his public service time at the Ministry of Finance where he served as Permanent Secretary for over a decade.
