During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, betPawa Uganda, a leading betting company, has allocated funds to aid breast cancer survivors in Uganda.

Within this campaign, the company intends to concentrate on financing breast reconstruction surgeries and supplying prosthetic breasts to breast cancer survivors.

Ivy Igunduura, the Country Marketing Manager of betPawa, acknowledged the significant financial challenges faced by breast cancer patients and their families in Uganda. She emphasized the company’s goal of easing the financial burden on families and, more importantly, restoring the confidence and self-esteem of breast cancer survivors. They aim to ensure that vulnerable women receive the necessary support and confidence during their recovery journey.

Breast cancer represents a substantial challenge in Uganda, with the costs associated with essential breast reconstruction surgeries often proving prohibitively high, leaving numerous survivors without access to these critical procedures. Under the new campaign, betPawa will collaborate with the Cancer Communique in two upcoming events, “Pink Friday” and “Movies4Cancer.”

These events are designed to raise funds for the acquisition of prosthetic breasts, with betPawa contributing by purchasing movie tickets for its staff and stakeholders. The funds raised in these events will be employed to provide artificial breasts to breast cancer survivors, aiding them in regaining their self-confidence and self-esteem.

betPawa’s team, comprising its staff and stakeholders, will unite for this meaningful cause during a one-day event on Friday, October 27th, at the Century Cinemax Cinema, situated in the Metroplex Naalya Mall in Kampala.

Breast cancer is a global health concern, and October has been designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month by the World Health Organization to promote education, awareness, and information on breast cancer. Consequently, many countries, including Uganda, have embraced October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Ivy Igunduura reiterated the significance of this initiative, emphasizing that breast reconstruction surgeries are crucial for the physical and emotional recovery of breast cancer survivors. However, these surgeries are often financially inaccessible to many.

Their objective is to relieve the financial burden on families and, more importantly, boost the confidence and self-esteem of breast cancer survivors, ensuring that vulnerable women feel supported and confident throughout their recovery journey.
