The Ugandan former Land Forces Commander and Presidential Advisor on Special Military Operations, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has this Sunday morning joined Rwandan President Paul Kagame, and First Lady, Jeannette Kagame in Kigali to participate in the bi-monthly Car Free Day March where thousands across the city use the streets of Kigali to exercise while preserving the environment.
“This morning, President Kagame, First Lady Jeannette Kagame were joined by General Muhoozi Kainerugaba for the bimonthly Car Free Day where thousands across the city use the streets of Kigali to exercise while preserving the environment,” office of the President of Rwanda announced on Sunday.
Gen Muhoozi is in Rwanda on a private visit.
Muhoozi was received in Kigali by President Kagame on Saturday evening.
President Kagame held private discussions with Gen Kainerugaba and his delegation at his private office at the Kigali Convention Center.
President Kagame is expected to hold several other engagements with the Ugandan delegation which arrived in Kigali on Saturday.
Gen Kainerugaba arrived at Kigali International Airport (KIA) on Saturday afternoon aboard Uganda Airlines in the company of veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda, his Military Assistant Col Mcdans Kamugira, renowned farmer Dr Barnabas Taremwa and Mr Alexander Mukonzi among others.
At the airport, Gen Kainerugaba and his team were received by the Commander of the Rwandan Republican Guard Maj Gen Willy Rwagasana and the Rwanda Defence Forces Spokesman Brig Gen Ronald Rwivanga.
