Uganda’s leading beer makers, Nile Breweries Limited (NBL) have announced a significant contribution to next month’s highly anticipated Busoga Royal Wedding. The Jinja-based company has committed a total of Shs 450 million towards various preparations and activities surrounding the wedding.

Scheduled for November 18, 2023, the wedding will witness Busoga King Wilberforce Nadiope Gabula exchanging vows with Queen Jovia Mutesi.

The Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs at NBL, Mr. Emmanuel Njuki, made this announcement at the Lukiiko grounds in Bugembe, emphasizing the company’s unwavering commitment to facilitating this historic occasion.

Njuki expressed, “Upon hearing about the royal wedding, we immediately recognized the importance of our involvement.”

Nile Breweries Limited and the Busoga Kingdom have shared a partnership since their founding in 1951. Njuki stressed that while this is a wedding for the King of Busoga, it is a celebration that extends beyond the kingdom’s borders, uniting the nation and showcasing the rich culture of Busoga.

Dr. Joseph Muvawala, the Prime Minister of the Busoga Kingdom, expressed gratitude to Nile Breweries for their generous contribution and shared the positive outcome of discussions held with Mr. Njuki, which led to this substantial support.
