For the third year in a row, Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda has been recognized as the most admired non-alcoholic beverage brand and most admired brand overall during the Africa’s Best Brands 2022 rankings.

During the 12th annual, Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands is third party independent consumer-led survey that seeks to establish brand preferences across Africa. The survey was conducted in 28 countries covering all economic regions in Africa and collectively accounting for more than 85% of the continent’s population and Gross Domestic Product.

The research was conducted by the world’s leading mobile-based research firm, Geopoll, with insights provided by the world’s largest information research firm, Kantar.

Upon receiving the award, Kirunda Magoola, the Public Affairs and Communication Director at Coca-Cola Beverages Africa in Uganda reiterated the company’s commitment to its brand purpose – ‘To Refresh Africa every day and continue making our continent a better place. He also lauded the organizers for their initiative to recognize brands that are making a difference in Africa.

“We draw our inspiration in being able to create meaningful impact in our communities while we provide refreshment to all our customers. It is amazing to see that effort recognized by reputable entities such as Brand Africa,” he said.

“Providing quality products and customer service excellence is at the core of all we do. We strive to ensure the millions of Ugandans that support us get the best from us and this award is an affirmation that we are doing it right. Cheers to all the hardworking teams at Coca-Cola, this is for all your unfaltering resilience behind the scenes,” he added.

Over the years, Coca-Cola has championed several community-driven initiatives and campaigns that have touched many lives. Among the popular initiatives include the World without Waste campaign geared at environmental sustainability, the 5by20 campaign that focused on the economic empowerment of 5 million female entrepreneurs across the value chain by 2020, the Elevate program aimed at mentoring youth with work-ready skills, Coke Studio – a celebration of African artists, and many others that have left a lasting influence on many Ugandans across the country and Africans across the continent.

According to Thebe Ikalafeng, the Founder and Chairman of Brand Africa and Brand Leadership, Brand Africa top 100 awards seek to recognize brands that create a positive image for Africa, showcase its diversity, and drive its competitiveness.

“Despite the pandemic, African brands have increased their share of the Top 100 most admired brands by 4% to comprise 17% in the 2022 survey,” he noted.
